Most of us call someone selfish for only thinking about themselves. We call someone selfish because they don’t consider the feelings of other people, or worse, our feelings. They are selfish because they’re only focused with themselves and not concerned with the well-being of the ones around them.

But when you really think about it, it’s the other way around — we’re the selfish ones. We’re the selfish ones for wanting our feelings to be considered, for wanting to be acknowledged properly, for wanting so bad to fit it and be a part of their world. I guess that’s why they never gave us the chance, I guess that’s why they don’t seem to care at all, because we’re the selfish ones.
